Legal & privacy

Plain answers about your data, your rights, and how Chapel works.

Privacy policy

Effective June 27, 2026

Chapel helps wedding coordinators, planners, and venues run branded wedding apps for the couples they serve. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

Who controls the data

When a coordinator uses Chapel to run a wedding, the coordinator decides what guest information to add and is the controller of that information. Chapel acts as the processor: we store and handle that data on the coordinator's behalf and only to provide the service. If you are a guest with a question about your information, contact the coordinator running your wedding first.

What we collect

  • Account details for coordinators: name, email, studio name, and password.
  • Wedding and guest details that a coordinator enters or imports: guest names, table and meal assignments, shuttle times, dietary notes, and travel origin.
  • Messages and requests guests send through the concierge so the coordinator can act on them.
  • Usage data such as pages opened and features used, to keep the service reliable.
  • Payment records when a coordinator invoices a couple. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on Chapel's servers.

How we use it

  • To run the wedding apps, the dashboard, and the concierge.
  • To send the notifications a coordinator chooses to send.
  • To process invoices and payments between a coordinator and a couple.
  • To keep the service secure and to improve how it works.

What we never do

We do not sell your information. We do not share guest lists between weddings or coordinators. We do not use guest contact details for our own marketing.

Who we share with

We share information only with the service providers that make Chapel run, such as our hosting, payment, and notification providers, and only as needed to deliver the service. We may disclose information if the law requires it. If Chapel is ever involved in a merger or sale, we will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

How long we keep it

We keep wedding data while the coordinator's account is active and for a reasonable period afterward so records and invoices stay available. A coordinator can delete a wedding and its guest data at any time, and can ask us to remove their account entirely.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your information, and to object to certain uses. Coordinators can do most of this directly in the dashboard. For anything else, email us and we will respond. We will not charge you for exercising these rights or treat you differently for doing so.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people a coordinator invites, and we follow practices designed to protect against loss and misuse. No system is perfect, so we also give coordinators controls to limit who can see what.

Children

Chapel is built for adults planning and attending weddings and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

International transfers

We may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for transfers across borders.

Changes

If we update this policy we will change the date above and, for meaningful changes, give notice in the product.

Terms of service

Effective June 27, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Chapel when you use the service. Using Chapel means you accept them.

Your account

You are responsible for your account, for keeping your sign-in details safe, and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

How coordinators use Chapel

Coordinators run weddings for their couples and add guest information to do so. By adding guest information, you confirm you have the right to use it for the wedding and to send the notifications you choose to send. You are responsible for the content you broadcast and for treating guests' information with care.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use Chapel to send unlawful, harassing, or deceptive messages.
  • Do not try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
  • Do not use another coordinator's branding or impersonate anyone.

White-label use

Chapel lets coordinators present the apps and dashboard under their own studio name and colors. The underlying software remains Chapel's. You may brand the guest experience; you may not resell Chapel itself as your own software product without a separate agreement.

Payments and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on the cycle you choose. Coordinator invoicing of couples is processed through our payment provider, and the coordinator, not Chapel, sets those prices and is responsible for delivering the service to the couple. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated otherwise.

Intellectual property

Chapel and its software, design, and marks belong to Chapel. The content you add, such as your guest details and your studio branding, belongs to you, and you grant us the limited permission needed to host and display it for you.

Service availability

We work to keep Chapel running smoothly but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may update features over time.

Disclaimers and liability

Chapel is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Termination

You can stop using Chapel at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken. On termination you can export your data for a reasonable period before it is removed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Chapel is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Cookie policy

Effective June 27, 2026

Chapel uses a small amount of browser storage to make the service work. We keep this light on purpose.

What we use

  • Essential storage keeps you signed in and remembers which wedding you are viewing. The service cannot run without it.
  • Preferences remember small choices, such as whether you have installed the app or enabled alerts.
  • Privacy-friendly analytics help us understand which features are used so we can improve them. We use this in an aggregated way and do not build advertising profiles.

What we do not use

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not track guests across other websites.

Managing storage

You can clear this storage in your browser settings at any time. Clearing essential storage will sign you out and reset your preferences.

Accessibility statement

Effective June 27, 2026

Weddings are for everyone, and so is Chapel. We want every guest, whatever their abilities, to open their app and find what they need.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across the guest app, the coordinator dashboard, and our marketing pages.

What we have done

  • Text and controls are sized and colored for readable contrast.
  • The app works with a keyboard, and interactive controls can be reached and operated without a mouse.
  • Images carry descriptive text, and structure uses real headings and landmarks for screen readers.
  • Layouts adapt to phones, tablets, and larger screens, and respect reduced-motion settings.

Known limitations

We are always improving. If you find a part of Chapel that is hard to use, we want to hear about it and will prioritize a fix.

Tell us

Email access@chapel.day with the page and what you ran into, and we will respond and work with you on an accessible way to get what you need.
